Dedicated volunteers are a vital component of the essential services provided by Rockland Family Shelter. Rockland Family Shelter has many opportunities for volunteers. Please view the Volunteer Fact Sheet below to find the area(s) of interest to you. If you wish to become a volunteer, please complete the downloadable application form and mail it or fax it to the attention of Candy Pittari or Esther Hyman at our main office located at:

Volunteer opportunities are available at the TAPPAN ZEE THRIFT SHOP at 454 Piermont Avenue, Piermont NY 10968. You may call the shop at 845 359 5753, or go in person to sign up for a shift of several hours. Rockland Family Shelter receives a percentage of the shop’s profits based upon:

  • the amount of hours donated in our name
  • the value of the donations given on our behalf
  • the amount of profits the shop derives from sales.
